Full Product description
The perfect gift for those who admire the elegance of the stunning Spitfire. These Sterling Silver Spitfire Cufflinks are crafted from a slice of history, a genuine piece of MK1 Spitfire which was in active service during World War Two.
Spitfire K9807 was the 12th plane to roll off the production line and successfully helped hold off the German Luftwaffe throughout the Battle of Britain.
Spitfire K9807 was in active service at Hornchurch until the 5th of October 1940 when it was shot down over Dover by a German Bf109. The pilot, James Storrs Morton managed to bail out despite being burned and after recovering from his injuries returned to active duty in February 1941.
In 2013, the M.O.D approved an excavation, enabling us to gain a section of the inlet manifold from this aircraft. Using the latest 3D printing technology we were able to re-create the Spitfire’s exact detail. We double cast the Aircraft grade Aluminium with Sterling silver fittings and managed to make just a few hundred pairs of these incredible pieces of Iconic British history.
These wonderful cufflinks come complete with a luxury gift box, information booklet and certificate of authenticity.
