Amber is made from fossilized tree resin and can sometimes contain small insects and animals. It can very much been seen as nature's time capsule. It's ability to preserve material has given modern day scientist not only detailed information about insects and creatures alive millions of years ago but also historic climate information for the regions in which the amber has been found.
